What is Break Every Chain Transformation House (BECTH)?
BECTH is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting recently released offenders as they transition back into society. Our mission is to provide stable housing, life skills training, and meaningful opportunities for individuals to reintegrate successfully and contribute positively to their communities.
Does BECTH provide counseling?
Yes. BECTH has a counselor that is always available to speak to residents about any personal issues they’re facing. Our counselor has the necessary experience and qualifications to help you resolve issues as you work through your sober living program.
Does each sober living house have a house manager?
Yes. A house manager lives on-site and is available at all times.
What forms of payment does BECTH accept?
Currently, we accept payment in the form of zelle, venmo, cash app, personal checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks. Rent is collected on a monthly basis.
How long does the application process take?
Once you have completed and submitted your application, we will review your information and a member of our admissions team will contact you directly. During normal business hours (Monday through Friday) we can finalize and approve your application for admission within 24 hours. Applications received on the weekend will be processed on Monday.
Will I have a roommate?
Residents share a room with at least one other roommate.
What rules do I have to follow?
All of our residents are expected to adhere to the community rules and standards set forth by BECTH. These rules include abstaining from all drug and alcohol use, maintaining the requirements and goals of the house. Each resident will receive a full list of guidelines and commitments upon enrollment.
Do I have to work while I’m enrolled in a BECTH sober living program?
BECTH requires that residents are actively seeking employment, are employed, are volunteering, or are enrolled in school throughout the course of their sober living program.
Can I stay away from the house overnight?
Yes. Depending on your progress through the phase program, you may be awarded one or several overnight passes. These are typically awarded to residents who have shown exceptional progress and have completed certain objectives of their phased programming.
Can I have visitors?
Visitors are welcome at BECTH, but they must be approved in advance by a house manager before they can enter the home. No overnight guests.
Are cell phones allowed?
Yes, they are. There are no community rules prohibiting the use of cell phones.
Can I bring my vehicle?
Yes. We have convenient parking available for vehicles. We do ask that you follow city parking laws when utilizing available spaces.
Does BECTH provide meals for residents?
No. BECTH residents are expected to purchase and prepare their own food for meals. We do, however, provide all cooking utensils and appliances needed to prepare those meals.
Is there a bus route nearby?
Yes. BECTH is conveniently located near a 2 local bus routes.
Can I leave at any time?
Yes, you may. We prefer a 30-day notice for departure if you choose to leave.
